On this day of 75th Independence Day 2021 we KshatriyaKomarpanth.com team thank Shri. Harishchandra Laxman Naik for his selfless service to our community. Shri Harishchandra Laxman Naik founded Shri Sharadamba Krupa Komarpant Charitable Trust (R) and was started on 8th February 2017, this trust is presently organizing regular medical camps, blood donation camp, Vanamahotsava taking into consideration the environment. Shri H. L. Naik has been taking keen interest in the development of the Komarpant community and its activities in Goa. He is also serving as an Advisor to the Kshatriya Komarpant Samaj, Goa and is the President of Vasco block committee of Kshatriya Komarpant Samaj, Goa.

About Shri HARISHCHANDRA LAXMAN NAIK

Shri HARISHCHANDRA LAXMAN NAIK (popularly known as H.L.Naik) was born on 18th December, 1948 in Yellapur, Uttar Kannada District, Karnataka. His father, late Shri Laxman Shivappa Naik, was serving as a Circle Inspector in Yallapur, Karnataka Government. Mother, late Smt. Gouri Laxman Naik was a housewife. Shri H.L.Naik has 1 sister and 11 brothers. His wife, Nisha is the daughter of late Shri S. R. Naik (who was working in Police Dept as a Manager) & late Smt. Nalini S. Naik of Kajubag, Karwar.

Shri H. L. Naik took his primary school education in Ankola and Kumta. He did his High School Education in Ankola and passed his SSC Examination from Peoples Multipurpose High School, Ankola. He B.Sc. Examination in Chemistry and Botany in the year 1971 from Gokhale Centenary College, Ankola of Karnataka University. Not only curricular but also took active part in Stage Acting in School/Colleges. He was adjudged the Best Actor consecutively for 4 years in Gokhale Centenary College from 1966-1970. He has done A.C.C. in High School level and N.C.C. in College level. Passed B Certificate Examination in N.C.C., Govt. of India. Attended N.C.C.Camp organized by N.C.C. Unit of Karnataka, Govt.of India. After his graduation, he moved to Mumbai and obtained Diploma in Secretarial Course and Diploma in Public Relations, from Govt. of Maharashtra, Mumbai. Did Apprecentiship instituted by Govt of Mahrashtra, in Mutual Plastics, Plastic manufacturing company at Kandivili, Mumbai. Also underwent Government of Maharashtra Apprecentiship in La Pranca Industries, Piston manufacturing company at Goregaon, Mumbai.

He joined V.M.Salgaocar & Brother Pvt.Ltd., Mumbai as a Secretary to their Branch Manager at 1979 and currently special Secretary to the Chairman of VM Salgaocar Corporation Pvt. Ltd. Chicalim, Mormugao, Goa.

Shri H. L. Naik is a Founder Member and Organizing Secretary of Kshatriya Komarpant Development Committee, Ankola, Uttar Kannada. He is the Founder President of Kshatriya Komarpant Welfare Association, Vasco Da Gama, Goa. He started the tradition of holding Annual Shri Satyanarayana Mahapooja and cultural activities in Vasco Da Gama with an object to bring together the community members scattered all over Goa. This has become a much sought after event in Goa as eminent personalities of the Samaj are recognized and felicitated here on this occasion. This has given a boost to our young generation to come forward to participate and interact in these activities.

Shri H. L. Naik has been taking keen interest in the development of the Komarpant community and its activities in Goa. He is also serving as an Advisor to the Kshatriya Komarpant Samaj, Goa and is the President of Vasco block committee of Kshatriya Komarpant Samaj, Goa. He was in forefront while leading the delegation of Komarpant members and the office bearers of the Samaj before the National Commission for OBCs, Government of India, New Delhi and other Local Government authorities to put up their case for granting OBC status to Komarpants in Goa.

In recognition of his dedicated and untiring services rendered by him Kshatriya Komarpant Samaj, Goa conferred upon him Komarpant Samaj Seva Puraskar Award first of its kind instituted by our Samaj anywhere in the year 2017.

He is the Founder of Shri Sharadamba Krupa Komarpant Charitable Trust (R) and started on 8th February 2017. It is a matter of pride to have our own Samaj's charitable Trust. He has inducted Samaj’s hard working, dynamic and knowledgeable members as trustees to run the Trust. Since it's inception, the Trust has been rendering yeoman services to the society. It undertakes regular medical camps, blood donation camp, Vanamahotsava taking into consideration the environment. Shri H.L.Naik is the guiding lamp to run this Trust.

His hobbies include reading, writing stories and poems. He is a regular columnist in Goa Kesari, Kannada fortnightly.

Shri H. L. Naik has 2 sons and 1 daughter. (i) Elder son, Nikhil is B.E. in Chemical Engineering from Pune University. He took up his career in Software field and is working in Pune. He is married to Rasika, B.E. Computer Engineering. She is now working in L&T, Pune.. (ii) Daughter, Nishchal is B.E. in Information Technology from Goa University. She is working as a Manager in IBM, Bangalore. She is married to Dr. Neelesh R. Naik, MBBS, MD. He is also working in Bangalore. (iii) Younger son Nimit is B.E. in Information Technology from Goa University and is working as a Software Engineer in Pune.
